July 17, 2014 at Cup Coffee
The inaugural Commune. dinner at Cup Coffee Roasters was a success judging by the smiling faces and full bellies walking out the door as the evening concluded. This one-off experience allowed the community to enjoy the high quality coffee being roasted in their back yard and to taste the cuisine of two fine Chefs, Alex Lira from the Lot and Cory Burke from Roti Rolls. As guests arrived, they were greeted with a specialty cocktail prepared and provided by Cup Coffee Roasters and Cathead Vodka. Additionally, guests were given an opportunity to meet and tour the local roastery accompanied by the mellow tunes from local favorites, Jordan Igoe & Mackie Boles.
Each of the dishes on the four-course menu cleverly incorporated Cup’s fair trade coffee with ingenuity and subtleness. Affording guests the opportunity to enjoy new flavors with beautiful whole roasted snapper stuffed with peaches and charred kale, chickpea croquettes with wilted arugala salad and salsa verde, and Fernet coffee milkshakes to name a few. Grassroots Wine was tasked with providing tasteful and delicious pairings to compliment the courses and the new Tradesman Brewery provided a delicious IPA for the first course.
We hope you’ll join us for another one of a kind experience, stay tuned to communecharleston.com for the latest news.
